ART FOR THE LIVING ROOM WALL

The living room was shaping up. It took more than a year for the room to come from:
to this:
And we had been shopping for an art/painting for sometime. As I had mentioned couple times, the wall behind the couch is a large wall with high ceiling. Whatever we would hang, it had to be around 75inches wide and at least 45inches tall to fill the wall.
Searching online was easier than visiting stores. I must have visited every store online. As well the online shops that sell arts, paintings, photographs.

Every few days, Mr. Tweaks and me would share with each other what we would have shortlisted. Mr. Tweaks list would be only big posters of photographs. Photos of nature or monuments. They were beautiful. But those would not go with the design plan I had for the living room.

And Mr. Tweaks would not agree to my list of abstract paintings or other arts.
And the then search would continue.

Then one day I came across an article about Sanjay Patel.
Sanjay Patel is an Animator and storyboard artist. He has worked on films Monsters, A Bugs Life, Toy Story 2, Incredible and Ratatouille.

He had an exhibition at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco in 2012. These are few pictures I am sharing from Sanjay Patel's website that was clicked during that time.
I loved his art.

I did some more research about him. Found out that he had books with colorful illustrations of ancient Hindu epics. These are pictures from his book Ramayana. These pictures are also from his website.

He has couple of other books on Hindu deities too. But what caught my eyes was this "The Big Poster Book of Hindu Deities: 12 Removable Prints". The posters were 16x12 inches in size.

And I changed the idea of going with one big art for the wall.
These pictures are again from his website http://www.gheehappy.com/.

These are the 12 posters in the book. I shared these pictures and my plan with Mr. Tweaks and he agreed without a question. Guess, he had enough of it.
So, I went ahead and placed the order on his website. The cost of the book of posters was $25.

You guys do have an idea how I went with these posters on the wall. How do you think it turned out?
Will share it in the next post.

Have a great week ahead!
